MPD4PPC Homepage


MPD4PPC is a graphical frontend for the popular MPD program. The idea is to use a windows based pocket pc as a wireless remote control for MPD. Currently it supports basic playback functions and has playlist editing and search capabilities. Below are some screendumps and a link to download the program.

So far I tested the program on an iPAQ using the bluetooth interface and on the ppc emulator using a lan connection. Both work as it should. The latest version also supports VGA devices.

Download the latest version:

To install the file, copy the cab file to your pocket pc. When first starting the program go to "menu" top set up the server address, port number and other settings. Download the project files (source files including images etc.):
mpd4pcc_project_files


Todo list:

  • Create an option to enable or disable outputs (streaming output).
  • Remove any bugs that are found.
  • Integrate Rufus mysql database, this will allow for albumart, album descriptions, nice search options and adding random song by artist or genre
  • Have a look at adding stream url's to the playlist. Currently the client can't handle stream url's

  • 2-12-2007 VGA devices are now supported. Changed to full screen.
  • 31-10-2007 New version (Call it version 1.0) with a new gui and quite a lot improvements. Some functions from the old version are not yet present in the new verion, I will work on that.
